What are you looking forward to?

parableofsheep

If your existence is somewhat similar to the majority of the individuals in the world, then you’re probably left having to endure the corporate drudgery for most of the week and obtain the consolation of two days of freedom. To numb the pain, some binge alcohol, others drugs, or maybe junk food.

It’s a sad state to live in knowing that this perpetual cycle will resonate the loop resembling best years of your life. Living in this shallow downward spiral is so many people around us continue to do, on a daily basis, some even fail to realise nor acknowledge it.

Besides what you’re roles are at work, or what you’re assigned to do at school, or expected to complete in your day to day life, nobody is really pushing you to achieve. Your discretionary earnings and free time are probably spent playing video games, or watching TV, maybe reading blogs. Look, the world will continue if you continue to live like this, and by all means I’m sure there are many millions of people in the world who would have your life.

The one aspect of this though which you should consider is this life of no challenge and growth. You continue this cycle for many years and what positives do you have to show for it? A bit of extra weight, some more wrinkles perhaps?

To grow as a human being, there needs to be some challenge in your life, there needs to be a realistic potential of failure.

Maybe you’ll learn languages, work on another income stream, leave your cushy corporate job, or maybe travel off the beaten path.

A man needs projects, longer term goals and  achievements that can be worked towards, tracked and can provide value and enjoyment once achieved.

Without this, you’re merely living like sheep. Just existing, with little purpose.

Drifting along isn’t the worst thing, you just need to make sure you wake from that lifestyle before it’s too late.

You’re really getting big on the lifestyle these days

    That picture is fitting.

You make a good point, you could enjoy life and have fun overseas with less money, or you could live in the west and make triple the money and feel shit the whole year and spend 2 weeks of that year overseas and having fun.
